PCM IM (instant messenger) Support Service
Date: 1/20/03 In keeping with our philosophy to provide the best support in our industry, we have now installed a Jabber instant messaging server. This server is maintained by PCM and all client communications can be encrypted using the SSL standard. For all of you unfamiliar with IM services here is briefly how they work.- A client establishes a connection with the instant messaging server
- The client is authenticated and logged onto the server
- The server displays the other users who are currently logged on. The client can add other users to his or her "buddy list"
- Messages passed from one client to another are facilitated by the server

| You can instantly send a message to any of our support technicians. |
| You can start an on-line chat session with any available support technician. |
| You can send or receive a file, instantly. |
| While your IM client is on-line, PCM support technicians can also instantly send you a message, chat with you, or send you a file. |
You can easily see the benefits of Jabber and IM will be the preferred method for contacting support. We have a web based client that is ready for immediate use at im.pcmli.com/java/java.html or you can install MyJabber, a Windows based client with advanced features. MyJabber is available for download at http://www.myjabber.net/Download/myJabFull3557.exe The PCM Jabber IM service will be provided to all current PCM customers for no additional charge! Just contact PCM support if you need any assistance with you IM setup.
